“Love that transforms lives”
The charism of The Daughters of the Heart of Mary calls us to be a sign of the Heart of God in the world, to be a merciful presence of love that transforms lives through prayer and apostolic action.
To preserve Religious Life in the world.
The Society was inspired by the Holy Spirit in response to the needs of that time: to preserve religious life in the Church and to supplement the “religious orders” prohibited by the political authorities during the French Revolution which is relevant even in the present time.
To respond to the needs of the time and place without any exterior distinguishing sign.
This form of religious life, authentic and demanding, without uniformity or distinctive sign, makes it possible to announce the Good News of Jesus Christ in all circumstances and milieu, even in difficult contexts, in a disposition of availability for every kind of apostolate.
To be in the world yet not of the world.
The DHM are fully involved working among the people but they are careful not to imbibe the worldly spirit of consumerism and materialism but to seek the Glory of God in all things.
Prayer and fraternal community life
Jesus Christ is the centre of the fraternal life in the community. The depth and strength of communion among them depends on the union of each one with Him.
